Sir Peter Graham, “The Tache,” last colonel of The Gordon Highlanders, passed away at 87. His funeral occurred February 4th in Berkshire.
Sir Peter served in the military for a long time, holding many important roles. He commanded 1st Battalion in Northern Ireland for eighteen months. He was also a general officer in Scotland. Sir Peter received an MBE award in 1972.
His funeral took place at Sandhurst academy, located in Berkshire. Sir Peter made a lasting impact on Aberdeen. He founded The Gordon Highlanders Museum in 1997.
The King recently visited this museum and met a 99-year-old D-Day veteran there. The Regimental Flag flew at half-mast, honoring Sir Peter’s memory. The museum remembered the serviceman from Fyvie.
The Veterans’ Foundation shared sad news of Sir Peter Graham’s passing in December, aged 87. He served in Northern Ireland and was a general in Scotland. The Gordon Highlanders started in 1794 as a local regiment and joined the Highlanders in 1994.

After retirement, he opened the museum, which keeps history alive and helps future generations.
