Hurting babies and kids is awful. People who do this face serious penalties. It’s heartbreaking when kids suffer silently. Their injuries can last a lifetime. Here are some court cases about this.

Cameron Shaw hurt a five-month-old baby. He broke the baby’s leg and ribs. He slammed the baby on the floor. The baby’s mom heard a scream and saw Shaw forcing the baby’s leg.

She rushed the baby to the hospital, where doctors found a broken leg and rib fractures. Shaw got 22 months in prison.

Simeon Mayhew and Rhiannon Waters abused their baby. The baby had many broken bones. These injuries resembled car crash trauma. Neither parent admitted causing harm, but they allowed it to happen, though. A judge called their actions shameful, and they each received four years in prison.

Sion Davies and Tegan Dolphin injured their newborn. The baby had rib fractures, occurring on two occasions. Both claimed they didn’t know how it happened, but the jury didn’t believe them. Davies got 30 months, and Dolphin got 18 months.

Nicholas Bateman shook his baby hard, causing severe brain damage. Bateman lied about it for years. He finally admitted he shook the baby, who now has cerebral palsy and cannot eat, speak, or stand. Bateman got over ten years in prison.

Matthew Sutor hurt a young child, who had a fractured rib and bruises. Sutor blamed the gym, but later admitted he did it. He squeezed the child hard, causing the child screamed.

Sutor claimed stress and marital issues, but he got three years in prison.

One dad shook his baby violently, causing severe brain injuries. The baby cannot walk or swallow and has seizures daily. The dad lied to emergency services, pretending he found the baby collapsed.

The dad was convicted after a trial and got ten years in prison.
