CrossCountry will discontinue the iconic Aberdeen to Penzance train service in May, affecting rail enthusiasts and travelers across the UK.
Aberdeen: The UK’s longest single railway journey from Aberdeen to Penzance is ending. CrossCountry plans to cut the service starting in May.
This route is famous for its 35 stops and stunning scenery. It has been a favorite among train lovers.
The change comes as part of a timetable update. Trains from Aberdeen will now only reach Plymouth.
This journey took over 13 hours and covered 785 miles. It left Aberdeen at 8:20 AM and arrived in Penzance at 9:31 PM.

CrossCountry operates these services to the southwest of England. The Daily Mail reports that the timetable for May 2025 may still change.
