Aberdeen: Floral tributes are now lining the banks of the River Dee. This is where two missing sisters, Eliza and Henrietta Huszti, were found earlier this week.

The police confirmed that the sisters’ family was notified after search teams discovered their bodies on January 31. The sisters, both 32, had been missing since January 7.

Their bodies were found near Victoria Bridge and the Aberdeen Boat Club, close to where they were last seen. Flowers were placed outside the boathouse in their memory.

A large search operation began after their landlord reported them missing. They had sent a text that night saying they wouldn’t return to their flat.

Police had stopped searching the River Dee after three weeks. The bodies were discovered on the morning and evening of January 31.

Investigators said there’s no evidence of foul play. Dive teams and coastguard workers had been searching the river throughout January.

The sisters were last seen on CCTV at Victoria Bridge around 2:12 AM on January 7. The police thanked the public for their help during the investigation.

Superintendent David Howieson expressed condolences to the Huszti family and acknowledged the impact of this tragedy on the community.
