BBC’s Judith Ralston warns Scots about Storm Éowyn, urging everyone to stay updated on weather alerts as severe conditions approach.
The storm is bringing weather warnings across the UK. In the north-east, two yellow warnings will kick in later this week. Expect heavy snow and winds reaching 90mph. An amber alert is set for Friday from 6am to 9pm.
While some folks might doubt these alerts, Judith insists we should all pay attention. She shared on X, formerly Twitter, that this storm is serious.
The Met Office warns of possible travel disruptions as rain and snow hit Scotland. Initially, rain will fall as snow, especially in hilly areas. Accumulations will be brief but could reach 5-10 cm in higher spots.
In northern Scotland, snow could linger longer, with 15-25 cm possible above 300 meters. Strong winds may create blizzard-like conditions in higher areas.
