Newtownabbey: A couple is sharing their tough journey to start a family. Megan and Ryan have been trying for almost four years. They got married in November 2023.

Sadly, they learned they have just a 0.5% chance of conceiving naturally. They need to undergo Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) treatment. This method involves injecting sperm directly into an egg to help fertilize it.

Megan shared how this journey has affected their lives. She said it has taken away the joy of their 20s. They can’t travel or enjoy life like they used to. It’s all-consuming, and they feel the weight of it every day.

Ryan also opened up about his feelings. He felt alone and less of a man when he first heard the news. But he realized many men face similar struggles. He encourages others to talk about it openly.

The couple has faced two failed ICSI attempts through the NHS. Now, they’re considering private options, which are costly. They’ve set up a GoFundMe to help raise £10,000 for their treatment.

Megan expressed gratitude for any support, whether through donations or sharing their story. They hope to bring baby Larmour into the world soon.
