Footballer James McClean was in a car crash today, with his Audi damaged beyond repair. Thankfully, he seems to be okay after the incident.
The crash happened today, January 22, just before he was set to train. A fan saw the whole thing and shared, “Just seen James McClean in a car crash.”
They mentioned he was walking around his damaged car, holding his arm, which was bleeding. It sounds pretty serious, especially with all the police around. Heavy fog was reported in Wrexham this morning, which might have played a part.
Social media lit up when someone posted a picture of McClean’s car being towed. The caption read, “James McClean smashing up his car outside my golf club.”
Wrexham AFC confirmed that one of their players was involved in a single-car accident on the way to training. They said local authorities were on the scene quickly, and the player would get medical checks just to be safe.
North Wales Police reported they got the call about the crash just before 9 AM. They and the fire service arrived to help, and the road was blocked until the car was cleared around 10 AM. Luckily, no serious injuries were reported.
McClean, who has played for clubs like Sunderland and West Brom, joined Wrexham in 2023. He’s known for his outspoken nature, especially about not wearing a poppy during Remembrance events.
Just days ago, he vented on Instagram after a tough loss, calling the town a “cesspit full of inbreds.” Things got heated after the match when he tried to confront some fans, leading to stewards stepping in.
He even got a yellow card for arguing with the referee. Wrexham’s manager, Phil Parkinson, downplayed the situation, saying, “He’s fine.”
“James is used to it. Fans give him a hard time, but he can handle it.” Still, McClean’s Instagram post might stir up some trouble with the club.
