Dublin: A savage storm is brewing for Ireland. Weather experts say it’s expected to hit on Friday. Some even think we might see snow.

Recently, we enjoyed milder weather, but that’s about to change. Temperatures are set to drop again, possibly hitting -2C. Met Eireann warns us to brace for wintry conditions.

The storm will bring strong winds and heavy rain. Kenneth Conlon from Donegal Weather Channel mentioned that snow could also be on the table. He said it all depends on the storm’s path.

If the storm tracks south, we might see snow. But if it goes north, we’ll just get the wind and rain. Alan O’Reilly from Carlow Weather also noted that weather models are still changing.

New maps from WXCharts.com show the storm arriving on January 24, 2025. They indicate wind gusts over 118 km/h in some areas, which is pretty intense.

This unsettled weather will stick around through the weekend. An area of low pressure could move toward the UK, driven by a powerful Jet Stream.

Meanwhile, the UK Health Security Agency has issued cold-health alerts for many regions. Vulnerable people should take care until January 21.

Stay tuned for updates and keep warm out there!
