An Inverurie dad, who lost his battle with cancer, was honored with a unique Defender hearse for his final journey, reflecting his love for Land Rovers.
Inverurie: A dad and Land Rover lover took his final journey in a special Defender hearse. This unique hearse was a fitting tribute to his passion for cars.
Steven passed away earlier this year after a long fight with cancer. Before he died, he trusted his family to handle his funeral arrangements. He had always dreamed of owning a Land Rover and even enjoyed a Land Rover experience with his family before he passed.
When planning the funeral, his wife Janet, son-in-law Daniel, and daughter Jennifer found the new Land Rover Defender Hearse. They felt it was the perfect way to honor Steven.
Jennifer shared that it was fitting for her dad. She said it was the car he always wanted. The hearse made a strong impression as it came down the drive, with a wicker coffin adorned with beautiful flowers.
She added that using the Land Rover made the sad journey a bit easier. It turned sadness into something more celebratory. She felt proud they did their best for him.
Sharon Laing, the funeral director, said it was an honor to help the family during this tough time and to do justice to Steven’s final journey.
Andrew Purves, who led the Land Rover launch, mentioned that the vehicle holds deep meaning for families. Since its launch, many have chosen it for its significance to their loved ones.
