Joseph Coghill will walk 200 miles to Glastonbury for charity, honoring his late friend DJ Jackmaster, who passed away in Ibiza last year.
Broadstairs: A close friend of DJ Jackmaster is walking over 200 miles to Glastonbury. He’s doing this to honor the beloved DJ who passed away last year.
Joseph Coghill, from Insch, will start his journey from Broadstairs in Kent. He plans to reach Glastonbury Festival later this summer.
Joseph aims to raise money for two charities that were important to Jack. Jack, whose real name was Jack Revill, died in Ibiza on October 12, 2024.
Joseph described Jack as a “bright light” who impacted many lives. Jack was only 38 when he died due to complications from a head injury.
In 2022, Jack ran the Edinburgh Half Marathon to support We Are With You and Endometriosis UK. Now, Joseph is taking on this 200-mile challenge in his memory.
So far, he has raised over £8,000 for both charities. Joseph and Jack became friends through their shared love of music.
Joseph, 39, met Jack in Glasgow when he was just 19. He remembers Jack as an incredible guy who did a lot of charity work.
Joseph said, “Jack had such a positive impact on people’s lives. I want to honor him.” He believes this walk can bring some positivity from a tragic situation.
Joseph plans to start his walk on June 11 and hopes to reach Glastonbury in about two weeks. His partner Lucinda will join him at the start, along with friends along the way.
Joseph noted that Jack was loved in Glasgow and worldwide. Many people attended his funeral to pay their respects.
After Jack’s death, his family shared a heartfelt tribute. They expressed their sorrow and requested privacy during this difficult time.
Jack was known for his passion for music and his work with the Numbers label and Rubadub Records. He inspired many in the electronic music community.
Joseph knows this walk is a big task, but he feels motivated. He trains daily, aiming for 20 miles a day, even in tough weather.
Although he doesn’t have a ticket to the festival yet, Joseph is confident he’ll find a way in. You can support his fundraiser by donating online.
