First Bus warns passengers of significant delays in Aberdeen as 19 weeks of roadworks begin on West Tullos Road, affecting multiple bus routes.
Scottish and Southern Energy is replacing underground electricity cables. The work starts on February 7 and ends on June 23.
Drivers will need to take a detour via Great Southern Road, Stonehaven Road, and Wellington Road. They can’t turn right from West Tullos Road onto Abbotswell Road during this time.
An alternative route will be available via Wellington Road. No-waiting cones will be set up, so parked cars could be removed if they’re in the way.
Passengers on 12 First Bus routes should plan ahead. Allow extra travel time, as buses may get stuck in traffic.
First Bus is putting up posters on affected services to keep customers informed. They apologize for any inconvenience.
The affected routes include: 3, 3A, 3S, 17, 17A, 17K, 18, 18A, 18S, 22A, 22C, and 172.
