A fire happened in Dungannon at Cunninghams Lane. It occurred just after 8:30 PM last night.

Police got there first and learned children were trapped inside. Officers grabbed ladders from nearby houses and rescued a woman and a child; the woman was unresponsive.

More police went inside the house and rescued another child and a man. Eight officers went to a hospital because one officer collapsed after the rescue, and they all suffered aftereffects from smoke.

Bobby Singleton praised the officers and said everyone thinks about the victims. Police confirmed the fire was set deliberately, calling the act a display of mindless cruelty, and mentioning that people experienced panic and fear.

Police arrested a man, age 21, who is a suspect, and the charge is arson with the intent to endanger life. He is in custody right now.

Singleton mentioned social media videos and asked people to consider the victims. He wants people to stop sharing footage of the fire, and the police want any information about the fire, urging people to call 101 and mention reference 1668 of 03/02/25.
