Aberdeenshire: A domestic cat was sadly euthanised after being found injured in an illegal trap. The Scottish SPCA discovered the cat with serious injuries in woodland near Macduff.

The charity is asking for help from the public. They want anyone with information about the cat or the trap to reach out. You can call their animal helpline at 03000 999 999.

This incident happened on January 28. A special investigations inspector noted that illegal traps can harm any animal caught in them.

Last March, the Scottish Parliament passed a bill to protect wildlife. This law bans all snares and glue traps.

If you see a trapped animal or suspect an illegal trap, please contact the SSPCA’s helpline. They appreciate any information that can help.
