Belfast: A Crown Court case about a tragic accident has been put on hold. This incident happened four years ago when Richard Boyle was walking his dog. Sadly, both he and his dog Junior lost their lives after being hit by a car on Stewartstown Road.

Six people were supposed to face charges today, but the hearing didn’t happen. The barristers are on strike, which has been going on for three weeks now. They’re protesting issues related to Legal Aid.

One of the defendants, Sean Martin O’Lali, was facing serious charges, including causing Richard’s death by dangerous driving. Others were also set to be charged with assisting offenders and withholding information.

None of the accused showed up in court, but their lawyers were there. The Crown barrister mentioned that the case likely wouldn’t proceed today. The judge then rescheduled the hearing for February 10th.
