Belfast: A cocktail bar in the city has decided to withdraw its late-night student night application. The bar, Revolución de Cuba, wanted to extend its hours on Mondays until 3am.

This decision came during a meeting of the Belfast City Council Licensing Committee. They discussed the application on January 22, but it was ultimately pulled.

The report didn’t clarify if this withdrawal is permanent or if they might try again later. Currently, the bar can host indoor entertainment for a good number of guests, but the Monday extension was aimed at attracting more students.

Interestingly, the council noted that there haven’t been any noise complaints about the venue in the past year. A public notice was shared, but no one objected to the application.

The PSNI had no issues with it either, and the fire service hasn’t responded yet. Revolución de Cuba is known for its vibrant atmosphere and Cuban cocktails, located in a historic building that dates back to 1894.

Originally a whiskey distillery, the building has seen many changes over the years. It was a bank for decades before becoming a bar and nightclub. Now, it’s a popular spot for locals and visitors alike.
