Two men were arrested following armed robberies at three shops in Mid Ulster, leaving staff shaken and prompting a police investigation.
Mid Ulster: Two men were arrested after three shops were robbed at gunpoint on Thursday. The incidents happened in Clonoe, Coagh, and Ballyronan.
Staff at the shops were threatened by masked men, leaving them very shaken. The first robbery occurred at a filling station around 6:50 AM.
In that robbery, two men with a handgun forced a staff member to open the till. They took cash and fled in a vehicle driven by a third man.
The second robbery happened at a supermarket just before 7 AM. Again, two armed men threatened staff and stole cash and cigarettes.
Shortly after, a third robbery took place at a shop on Moor Road in Clonoe, where the suspects made off with more cash.
Police arrested a man in his 50s and another in his 30s. They are being questioned about the robberies. An electronic device was also seized for examination.
