Sisters Eliza and Henrietta Huszti found dead in River Dee. Father suspects foul play, believes they were kidnapped and murdered.
The sisters vanished near Victoria Bridge on January 7. They were triplets, age 32. Bodies were found near Aberdeen Boat Club weeks later; this happened on January 31. Police told the Huszti family about this discovery.
The deaths have unexplained circumstances. The father, Miklos Huszti, believes foul play occurred, convinced someone lured and killed them.
The Mirror newspaper reported the father’s comments. He told Hungarian media he knows they did not kill themselves.
Henrietta’s phone sent a strange text message to their landlady in the early hours of January 7. The message said they were leaving and not returning.
Police visited their apartment, where Eliza’s phone and belongings remained. Mr. Huszti thinks someone else sent that SMS. He believes they kidnapped his daughters and lured them to the waterfront, where they were cruelly murdered.
Police Scotland has found no evidence of third-party involvement. However, they are still exploring every possibility.
Besides triplet Edit, they had a brother, Jozsef, who lives in Hungary. Jozsef told his father they probably found Henrietta. The father had no contact with his daughters for 12 years, after separating from their mother.
The sisters moved to Scotland after the separation and spoke often with their brother. They spoke on New Year’s Eve. Three days before disappearing, they called their mother, and that phone call caused no concern.
People left tributes at the river scene after confirmation of the sisters’ deaths. Anita Vida organized a fundraiser to help the family during this time.
Anita, part of Aberdeen’s Hungarian community since 2011, shared a message on JustGiving to support the family. The loss of Henrietta and Eliza is heartbreaking. The sisters went missing January 7 and were found in the River Dee on January 31. This tragedy devastated the family.
