Aberdeen: Scotland’s flooding hotspots have been highlighted as Storm Éowyn approaches. The storm is expected to bring strong winds, heavy rain, and snow to the north-east.

The Met Office has issued warnings for Friday and Saturday. Recently, Aberdeen enjoyed milder weather, but that’s about to change.

A study by MG Timber and others ranked areas by rainfall. Aberdeen came in eighth for the most rainfall last year. Dumfries topped the list with 1,404mm of rain.

Dumbarton and Clydebank followed closely, with 1,328mm and 1,314mm, respectively. Johnstone and Paisley rounded out the top five.

On the flip side, St Andrews had the least rainfall at just 618mm. Dundee and Peterhead also had low totals.
