A Message from Chris Hunt
Thank you to everyone for your support during my short time as Head of School at Buckland St Mary C. of E. Primary School. It has been a privilege to work with this wonderful community with the school at its very heart.
The children are lucky to be supported by such a hard-working dedicated staff and I thank them all for their warm welcome, kindness and sense of humour. I have also particularly appreciated the support of the fantastic FoBS team; their fundraising abilities and enthusiasm to help the school are phenomenal! I am also extremely grateful to the Ethos and Welfare Committee, who have been key in further strengthening the links with the Church and meeting regularly to take part in productive discussions to support further improvements.
I have loved getting to know all the Buckland children and I would like to thank the enthusiastic Ambassadors and Play Leaders for all their help. I look forward to hearing of all your achievements and all the exciting events that will be taking place over the coming months.
I was delighted to receive a letter this week from the Department for Education, congratulating the staff and pupils on the very high standard of achievement demonstrated in the writing Key Stage 2 assessments last year. Well done everyone!
Mr Nation enjoyed visiting the school this week and meeting all the children and many parents. I wish him all the very best as he takes on the leadership of Buckland St Mary and I know that the school will continue to go from strength to strength.
Finally thankyou to everyone for your kind words, wishes and gifts; I was very touched by Wednesday’s Collective Worship. I repeat, it has been a pleasure to be here. I wish you all every success and happiness for the future.
