A Message from Helen Woodhams
There’s always so much going on at Buckland...
The library is undergoing ‘changing rooms’. Thank you to the parents who came to clear and clean ready for all the lovely new furniture. We are all very excited and can’t wait to see the finished room. Thank you so much to FOBS!
The children have all been working hard on their science and with the arrival of Spring it’s lovely to see the children taking their learning outside. Oak class enjoyed a bug hunt and are becoming experts at classification.
On Tuesday we had a very positive monitoring visit from the DfE and Regional Schools Commissioner’s Office (who oversee Academies). I was delighted to show off the school in its full glory. The children were brilliant and she was very impressed with the professionalism of staff.
It’s now only a week away from the May Fair. Thank you to everyone involved in the organisation. I’m really looking forward to it. More news from across the Small Schools Hub. This week all the paperwork was finally completed and Hatch Beauchamp officially joined The Redstart Learning Partnership. We are delighted to officially welcome the school into our growing community. As Head of the three School’s, it’s also been very exciting to see the staff working so well together in our joint planning meetings as we continue to share best practice and further develop our curriculum. This week the focus was Science and we welcomed the Science Lead from Redstart who joined us. I know he not only came with ideas, but also went away with other ideas that he will share with his collegues in Chard. Helen Woodhams, Head of School
