A message from Helen Woodhams
I can’t believe we have only been back 2 weeks. The classes have been so busy.
Across the school, I’ve seen lots of poetry going on; children exploring different poetic devices and developing their vocabulary. I’ve also seen Oak class busy exploring their science topic, living things and learning all about classification. They have also been making the most of our lovely outdoor space on grammar treasure hunts! With Beech class studying plants this term, it’s fantastic that the children are able to put their knowledge skills into practice into forest school with lots of planting going on.
Thank you to all the parents who came into school for one of our information meetings this week. It was good to have those frank and open discussions about how we have responded to our OFSTED visit and explain some of the work we have already done and are continuing to do to further improve the education for all the children at Buckland St Mary.
A big thank you to Rosie who has, with Mrs Blatcher, been in rehearsing our maypole dancers. We are all looking forward to the forthcoming May Fair. The support of parents, and FOBS in particular, is really appreciated by all the staff and children at school.
The library transformation is about to take place- we can’t wait to see all the new furniture and we are in the process of selecting new books to support the teaching of our wider curriculum. Again thank you to FoBS for financing and helping to organise this project.
A final good luck to Beech class who are performing tonight with Ashill Primary School.
