A Message from Steve Morton

The nature area continues to evolve with the grass seed now laid and life starting to settle in the pond. Once again a big thank you to all the willing volunteers who have made the nature area look so marvellous in such a short space of time. If you have any compost, patio paving slabs or any plants that you are willing to donate then let us know and we will gladly add them to our space. We have secured a piano teacher for lessons using our new Clavinova. If you would be interested in learning to play the piano then please let me know straight after half term and I will arrange for more information from the teacher. Well done to all of our budding cricket stars who played with great sportsmanship on Tuesday at the inter-school tournament. Mr Durham and Miss Cridland relayed back to us all how well you played, represented our school and showed dogged determination to keep on going throughout the whole day. Plans are coming together for our whole school art week in the second week back. If you have any spare material or spare time and would like to be part of the week then please let us know.  Have a restful break and I look forward seeing you all for the final half term. A message from Steve Morton

Well it’s been another busy and exciting couple of weeks here at Buckland St Mary C of E Primary School with lots of things to share. Visits from external advisors and inspectors, cricket coaching, Key Stage 2 SATs tests, a new outdoor gazebo and of course lots of lovely activities happening in and out of the classrooms. I will share all feedback from the visits and any reports with you as they arrive with me here.   Well done to all of our Year 6 pupils who have worked very hard this week during the SATs tests. They approached each paper with a positive outlook and a determination to show all of their strengths. We are all very proud of you and think that you deserve a well-earned weekend of fun (with parental permission of course!). A big thank you to Weavo Fencing, Hatch, for donating our new outdoor gazebo for the nature area. They not only made the structure from a drawing, but arrived after school as a team of 4 workers and erected it. All for free! We do live in an amazing community. I look forward to seeing all of you at the May fair 12-3pm on Saturday for a cream tea and some fun in the sun! (other weathers are available).
